I hope everyone had a belly-filling and restful holiday 🦃🍽️🍂 and a productive weekend of black Friday shopping 🛒🛍️.

We've got some fun things awaiting you below. Games, Display Stands, and more! Plus, you don't need to wait until Christmas to enjoy them. But first, a few quick pieces of business...


📣Last call for order updates! 🛒Charging Cards 💳and Locking Addresses! 📦


Emails went out yesterday to let you know we are locking orders. You have until December 3rd at 3:00 AM MST to make changes.

After this, we will lock your reward selections and charge cards for add-on item purchases, pledge upgrades, and pre-orders. Please make sure that you have the correct card information on file. If any issues arise with your payment you’ll receive an email letting you know to correct your payment information.

You can update your shipping address up until we lock addresses for shipping on Dec 5th. You will get a 48 hour email notice for this as well.

If you fill out your BackerKit survey or pay for extra shipping after the Dec 5th, we’ll still receive your information, but your shipment may be delayed.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://fate-finder.backerkit.com/

You’ll soon receive an email from us containing a unique link to your BackerKit survey. Completing this survey as soon as possible is essential, as we rely on this information to fulfill your rewards.
When the survey email arrives, simply click the link to access your survey. From there, answer the questions, provide your shipping details, and, if you’d like, purchase any add-on items. Although the survey link isn’t available just yet, you’ll see it in your inbox soon!
Once you’ve completed your survey, you can revisit it anytime to adjust your responses until we lock in the final details.

🏬Local Pickup🏬

If you plan to attend our local pickup event in Colorado Springs, you will need to select your country as Local Pickup at the beginning of the survey. The event will be in December at Petrie's Family Games. We will send out more details in the coming weeks. If you can't make it, we can leave your rewards there for pickup on your own time.



⌚Timeline Reminder⌚

Recall our timeline is the following:

  1. First, Surveys will begin to go out tomorrow. Please fill them out as quickly as you can.
  2. Next, we will charge credit cards and lock addresses (about Dec 1st.) We may need to do this sooner (Nov 21st) for orders outside the US.
  3. Finally, we will begin to ship out rewards. (about Dec 10th). 



🎁Gift Wrapping in the US🎁

Since our timeline puts us close to the holidays, we have decided to offer gift wrapping within the US. If you plan to send a Fate Finder as a gift, consider providing the receiver's address instead and adding the gift wrap option.




⚔️Goal: One-Shot Adventure⚔️

According to BackerKit, late pledges have helped us reach the One-Shot Adventure Goal. So we will get working on that so you have a fun way to introduce and use the Fate Finder in your gaming parties.

📖A Twist of Fate - Part 6📖

Fenn chooses to answer "A Time" to the riddle. This was an interesting riddle as each answer was possible but clues would lead you to use elimination. A memory can't change in a flash. A Time is not found within. A Dream is not with you in every waking moment. The last answer, A Thought, was correct. But lets see if Fenn can still get into the Hall of Luck. In total, we will also get:

  • Oracles 🔮 Humorous guides for your divination needs! Ask simple yes or no questions, Or reveal your fortunes around love, friends, business, and work.
  • Fate Finder Games 👾 A couple of simple games to play with your new divination tool
  • RPG Generators 🎲 Need something random to happen in your RPG game? Find amusing paths, places, and events to add to your story.
  • Display Stand 🏆 We will be designing a printable stand to showcase the power of the Fate Finder.

We were very close to the One Shot Adventure ⚔️. We will keep the funding going in the pre-order store. If we reach that goal, we are going to write up a short adventure to introduce your D&D party to the power of the Fate Finder.


What to Expect Next?

  1. First, BackerKit is going to charge your card for your pledges and transfer the funds. This can take up to 2 weeks.
  2. Second, after funds are collected, we will send out pledge manager surveys (about Nov 14th). This is your chance to add additional rewards and provide shipping address and funds. It will be very important that you complete these on time to get rewards sent out quickly. We’ll give you a heads-up before we send the survey so that you can watch for it.
  3. Third, we will charge credit cards and lock addresses (about Dec 1st.)
  4. Finally, we will begin to ship out rewards. (about Dec 10th).



📖A Twist of Fate - Part 5📖

You've decided that Fenn will try to solve the riddle to enter the Hall of Luck. Let's see if he can summon his greatest wits, probably not his best trait, to make it inside. The campaign may be over today, but we will continue the story to its end with future updates.

Thank you to all the loyal backers and those of you who have stuck around. The time is ticking. 


🔮So what can you use a Fate Finder for in YOUR game? 🔮

Using props can be fun for players, but you need to be prepared. We've thought of some creative uses for this in your game and why this could act as a special prop for special circumstances.



  • Prop for Fortune Telling or Divination
    The Fate Finder could serve as an in-game artifact—a mystical object or ancient oracle that characters consult to divine the future or seek guidance from the gods. 
  • Skill Challenge Enhancer
    During a skill challenges, introduce the Fate Finder as an extra layer of randomness. Players make their normal checks , but the Fate Finder is shaken for bonus effects or consequences. 
  • A Limited-Use, Player-Owned Artifact
    Each player could have a set number of uses of the Fate Finder per session. They shake it to add a bit of luck or fate into their action outcomes. 
  • A Plot Device for Character Arcs
    The Fate Finder could play a role in a character’s backstory or side quest, being a relic they must find or use to accomplish a personal goal. This could involve divining their fate or using it to unlock a hidden potential. 
  • An Important Relic in the Game’s World
    Make the Fate Finder a legendary object within the game world that all characters know of—an item of lore that players must seek out, protect, or use to change the course of history. 



For flavor, perhaps you can have it function as...

  • An Ancient Puzzle Key - Characters must bring the Fate Finder to specific locations or “nodes” within a dungeon. At each node, they shake it and record the number; after collecting a sequence, they unlock the secret. 
  • A Time-Turning Relic - Players can shake the Fate Finder to reset a scene, room, or battle, using the number as a countdown for how many turns they go back. 
  • A Mirror of Alternate Realities - Allow players to shake the Fate Finder in moments of indecision. The number corresponds to a version of the event that happens in another dimension, giving players insight without changing the main timeline. 
  • A Fate Wagering Artifact - Before taking risky actions, players can wager on a high or low outcome using the Fate Finder. For example, if they bet high and roll an 11-20, they receive a boost to their roll; if they lose the wager, there’s a consequence. 
  • A Luck-Stealing Artifact - The Fate Finder can be shaken to borrow a “lucky” number. The number revealed comes with a risk: the Fate Finder “steals” that luck from the player’s next roll, reversing it.
  • A Memory Keeper - The Fate Finder holds memories of past lives. Players can shake the Fate Finder to receive “memories” or fragments of skill from their past lives, or someone else's.

🥇 I've really excited to expand the Fate Finder Oracles. I have a lot of fun with it.

🥈And It looks like we just hit the goal for some Simple Fate Finder Games!
I have a few ideas for some simple games you can play against yourself or another person with the Fate Finder. You should be able to include them in your own TTRPG or elsewhere perhaps as a challenge or tavern game. Remember that these will be simple. There is only so much one can do with only a d20 as the only mechanic.
